How can I create, edit and delete taxonomy?
Hierarchy
- A hierarchy is an entire tree structure in a document type's taxonomy, and contains several categories that you can use for tagging documents.
- You can create as many hierarchies as you like.
- To create a new hierarchy, just click Add new hierarchy, give it a name and save it.
Required Hierarchies
- You may mark a hierarchy as required, which means that users will be asked to tag documents in at least one category in this hierarchy when they are working with the document in the FormsViewer task pane.
- Make sure that any required hierarchy has at least one category underneath it.
- To mark a hierarchy as required, click on the black asterisk (*) when creating or editing a hierarchy node so that it turns red, and then click Save.
Category
- Every hierarchy should contain at least one category, which you will use for tagging documents in this document type.
- To create a category, click the + icon to expand any node and click Add new category, give it a name and save it.
Exclusive Categories
- You may mark a category as exclusive, which indicates that only one sub-category of that category should be tagged for any given document. This will be enforced in the FormsViewer task pane.
- The exclusive designation will only have any meaning if the category has two or more child categories underneath it.
- To mark a hierarchy as exclusive, click on the black asterisk (*) when creating or editing a hierarchy node so that it turns blue, and then click Save.
